Alexandra Maria Lara was born in Romania. She is an actress from Germany and Romania. Her most well-known movies include Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. She was the sole daughter from Romanian actor Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra got into showbiz early and landed up acting in lead roles on various television dramas by the time she was sixteen. After her critically acclaimed role in the television film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went into other notable parts, including Adolf Hitler's secretary, Traudljunge, as well as the secretary of Adolf Hitler in Downfall. This film was nominated for an Oscar and received critical and commercial popularity. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were both nominated for Oscars. Over the years Alexandra has been involved in a variety of noteworthy national and international projects. This includes the British biographical films Control Greek dramatic film The Dust of Time French historical Miniseries Napoleon, amongst others. In addition, she has been a juror at the Transylvania International Film Festival as well as at the Cannes Film Festival.
