Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German film and television actress famous for her performance in films like Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Alexandra was the only child of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. At the age of sixteen, she had landed several television roles, for instance, the lead in the film Downfall Youth without Youth Control. Her portrayal of Adolf Hitler's Secretary Traudl Jue, from Downfall (an Oscar-nominated historic war film), was critically and commercially acclaimed. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were also Oscar-nominated. Alexandra is known for her involvement in many noteworthy projects both domestically as well as internationally. They include the British biographical Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and French historic miniseries Napoleon among others. In addition, she was part of both jury for the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
