Maria Menounos

Maria discovered she had an individual health issue as she was caring for her mother suffering from Stage 4 brain tumors. In February 2014 Menounos started experiencing troubling symptoms. Menounos tells PEOPLE that she was experiencing headaches and lightheadedness from February 2014. "My speech was slurred. Additionally, I was having trouble reading the prompter on the teleprompter." Menounos had been diagnosed as having a large meningioma brain tumor. A MRI confirmed this. Menounos made an appointment with her mother's doctor, the renowned surgeon Dr. Keith L. Black who scheduled the surgery to be performed on June 8 - her birthday. Menounos claims that Dr. Black said, "I am 98 percent positive that the tumor is not malignant, but we will not know until we go into the," This complex procedure took approximately seven hours and the doctor. Black was capable of removing 99.9% of the benign tumor. According to her, Dr. Black stated that it is likely to have the tumor be resurrected in between 6 and 7 percent of the cases.
